- False cause
Also known as: Post Hoc, butterfly logic, false effect or confusing cause and effect (i.a.). Claiming that the cause is true or false based on what we know about the effect in a claim of causality that has not been properly established. The cause is often an implied claim, and it is this claim that is being deemed true or false, or wrong.[1]
