Types of information 2/4

  1. Concept

A concept is a general idea or category that helps us understand a group of related things. In the context of climate change, concepts explain broad ideas such as the greenhouse effect or sustainability.

“The greenhouse effect describes how gases in the atmosphere trap heat, causing the planet to warm.”

  1. Procedure

A procedure outlines step-by-step instructions to complete a task or achieve a goal. It’s practical and action-oriented. It can take the form of step-by-step instructions, demonstrations, or methods, such as how to reduce energy use or how climate data is collected.

“How to conduct a simple energy audit for your home to reduce energy use.”
