What is climate 3/4
Pieces of evidence of human-induced climate change 1/2
There’s no longer any doubt – humans are significantly shaping the Earth’s climate. This is the clear message from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the leading global authority on climate science. Since the start of the industrial era, concentrations of greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide (CO₂), methane (CH₄), and nitrous oxide (N₂O) have risen sharply and continuously, driven by human activities. Carbon dioxide stands out as the most significant contributor, mostly released through burning fossil fuels, deforestation, and land-use changes. Human dependence on fossil fuels has pushed CO₂ levels up by around 50% in just 200 years, fueling changes not only in the atmosphere but also across oceans, ice systems, and ecosystems around the globe.
