Climate risks 2/3

How do we assess risk?

There are multiple ways to assess risk, and one of the most common approaches determines it probabilistically by examining factors such as hazard (the threat itself), exposure (who or what is at risk) and vulnerability (susceptibility to harm). This is also the framework adopted by the IPCC, which recently introduced a fourth component to it: responses (the actions and decisions that humans take to face climate change challenges).
