Welcome to the introductory module on climate change from a scientific point of view. This module highlights the importance of precise and accurate information on climate change, based on scientific grounds, as a prerequisite for citizen engagement and effective climate action.
Only citizens who are well informed and aware of the challenges and impacts posed by climate change and its effects can actively participate in co-designing and implementing strategies to limit climate change impacts and promote transformative adaptation.
This module is a condensed version of Adaptation AGORA’s sister Academy for accessing and using climate data and monitoring climate risks. Here, you can find detailed and comprehensive information on climate change and its impacts on society.
Beginning with the distinction between weather and climate, this module explores the use of climate data and models, examines the impacts of climate change on society and how to assess them, and concludes by envisioning future challenges and opportunities in climate studies. It offers a comprehensive overview of the field and its relevance today.
