Learning objectives

By the end of this module, learners will be able to:

  • Define digital literacy and explain its importance in today’s digital world.
  • Identify different types of digital media and understand how to engage with them critically.
  • Recognise misinformation, disinformation, and the role of fake accounts in spreading false narratives, including around climate change.
  • Understand how filter bubbles and echo chambers shape online experiences and limit exposure to diverse views.
  • Practice responsible content creation, including ethical sharing, respecting copyright, and protecting privacy.
  • Assess risks related to digital content, contact, and conduct, and take steps to promote safer online behaviour.
  • Develop awareness of how artificial intelligence influences online content and how to use AI tools responsibly.
  • Strengthen their ability to verify information and think critically, especially when engaging with climate-related content online.
