InVID
InVID is a free plugin that analyzes videos, photos and text to ensure accuracy. It was initially designed for journalists but can be used by anyone. It is users friendly and handles content in English and several other languages.
The suite includes the following features:
- Analysis tab: Provides a deep dive into videos from YouTube and Facebook, sharing insights about their metadata. This in-depth video analysis covers context, possible location details, comments, options for reverse image searches, and the ability to check for related tweets on YouTube videos. A notable addition is the reprocess button, which enables updating the analysis.
- Keyframe tab: Enables users to break down videos into keyframes, either by uploading a file or pasting a link. This feature supports various video formats and provides the ability for conducting reverse image searches on platforms like Google, Yandex, Tineye, and Baidu with just a right-click.

- Thumbnail tab: Makes it easy to conduct reverse image search with thumbnails extracted from YouTube videos. This tool is especially useful for checking whether a video has been shared before.
- Search Tab: Makes searching Twitter for specific words or hashtags within set time periods easier by automatically turning dates and times into Unix timestamps. This helps find the initial eyewitness reports after news events. (You must be connected to X to use this feature.)
- Magnifier lens tab: This tab offers tools for to examine images detailed by using zoom and enhancement features to reveal hidden details. It supports reverse image search and image forensic analysis. You can also conduct reverse image search using various platforms (Google, Bing, Yandex, Badu, TinEye and Reddit).

- Metadata tab: Provides the ability to check the Exif metadata of images and video in different formats. This allows you to see geolocation information and provides a direct link to view the location on Google Maps.
- Video Rights tab: Links to the InVid Rights Management tool, to get information on video rights and outlining the terms of reuse as defined by the social platform or the person who uploaded content. It also assists in contacting uploaders for permission or discuss the terms for using the content again.
- Forensic tab: Provides access to forensic analysis services for still images. This feature aims to verify their authenticity by examining their composition and quality.
With the Contextual menu allow users by right-clicking on an image or video URL to access various InVID features, including detailed image analysis, forensic evaluation, and initiating reverse image searches.
