How to participate in online discussions thoughtfully 12/13

Why thoughtful online discussions matter

Online discussions can be powerful tools for climate action and awareness—but only when used responsibly. The way we engage matters. Whether you’re correcting a myth, supporting someone’s concern, or offering a possible solution, your words can help shape a more informed and respectful conversation.

Climate change disinformation spreads quickly online. It can undermine trust in science, journalism, and public institutions. According to the Council of Europe, disinformation often flourishes in polarised or poorly moderated spaces. But the opposite is also true: thoughtful, well-structured discussions can slow the spread of false information and promote constructive dialogue.
