Media literacy and other forms 4/6
Media literacy as a lifelong procedure
Media literacy is a lifelong procedure.
As Renee Hobbs explains, media literacy involves:
- Making informed decisions when accessing information
- Analysing content to understand point of view, bias, and credibility
- Creating content responsibly — whether it’s a tweet, photo, or video
- Reflecting on how we communicate and engage with others online
- Taking meaningful action in our communities, online and offline
These are essential skills in a world where anyone can publish, but not everything published is reliable.
