Media literacy and other forms 1/6

What is media literacy

Media literacy is the ability to access, understand, evaluate, and create messages in a variety of media formats — including print, television, film, radio, social media, and more. It means becoming aware of how media messages are produced, for what purpose, and with what impact.

Media literacy encourages us to think critically about what we see, hear, and read — whether it’s a newspaper article, a political campaign poster, a film, a radio debate, or a tweet.

It is not only about using technology. It’s about understanding the language, intent, and influence behind any message communicated through any medium.
