Objectives 1/2

By completing this module, learners will be able to:

  • Understand what information is and why evaluating it is important in the context of climate change.
  • Identify and distinguish between different types of information (e.g. concept, procedure, principle, fact, etc.).
  • Recognise the levels of information sources (primary, secondary, and tertiary) and evaluate their reliability.
  • Apply common evaluation methods, such as the 5Ws, CARS checklist, and CRAAP test.
  • Use a variety of tools and techniques to verify content, including reverse image searches and fact-checking platforms.
  • Identify signs of climate disinformation and understand how it can mislead audiences.
  • Refer to trusted organisations and networks that monitor and counter climate-related disinformation.
